Caring for a KCIC Christmas Ornament
Caring for Your KCIC Glass or Porcelain Christmas Ornament
The Packing Shred and Tissue Paper
Do not discard
the color-coordinated packing shred
and tissue that surrounds
your ornament. The shred keeps the contents of your
storage box from shifting around during off-season storage. It could
prevent chipping or other damage to your ornament. Keep your ornament in
the small ornament gift pouch or box in which
it was packed. And, keep that with the Certificate of Authenticity and/or
the ornament stand, inside of the
Indestructo
storage
box that was inside of the gift box for your ornament.
Caring For Your Porcelain Christmas Ornament
These ornaments are fragile. Handle them carefully! Before removing the ornament from your tree or ornament stand, make sure you have the ornament gift box and storage box nearby. Place it immediately in the ornament gift box (small box with the clear lid.) While the ornament is in this box, hold it securely and use a soft, lint free cloth or small feather duster to remove dust from the porcelain body of the ornament. Raise the ornament slightly above the edge of the box, hold the box and ornament securely and gently brush the velvet bow with a soft toothbrush allowing debris to fall on the table beneath. Lower the ornament into the box, replace the clear lid, put the boxed ornament inside of the Indestructo storage box with the larger KCIC gift box. Store the box it in a cool, dry area out of direct heat or sunlight until you are ready to display your ornament again.
To clean pouched ornaments, lay the ornament flat on a sheet of 3/16" bubble wrap, bubble side down. Hold it securely at the top and use a soft, lint free cloth to remove dust from the ornament. Gently brush the velvet bow with a soft toothbrush allowing debris to fall on the bubble wrap sheet beneath. Replace the ornament in its bubble wrap pouch / insert and place it back in the organza pouch. Store all items inside of the Indestructo storage box with the larger KCIC gift box. Store the box it in a cool, dry area out of direct heat or sunlight until you are ready to display your ornament again.
Many of our customers prefer to display their ornaments all year around, not just at Christmas. If you choose to do so, try to place it in a display cabinet, china closet or other enclosed space. Keep it out of direct sun light or heat. Depending upon where the ornament is displayed, your ornament may accumulate dust. To remove dust on the ornament, carefully remove it from the stand and follow the above instructions. Do not use water or anything wet on the ornaments! Clean the stand as below and carefully replace the ornament.
